GAINESVILLE, Fla.  - The six-team field for the 2017 Gainesville Regional Gymnastics Championships was revealed today. The NCAA Gymnastics Committee unveiled the fields for each of the six 2017 NCAA Region Championships sites Monday afternoon.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A 10.0 by the Gators' final performer brought the near-capacity Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center crowd to their feet. Junior Kennedy Baker's finishing routine on floor exercise was 10.0, helping the Florida gymnastics team to win the 11th edition of Gators Link to Pink with a season-high total of 197.70. Auburn also had a season-best of 196.40.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Home and Southeastern Conference action for the Gator gymnastics team opened Friday with a 197.60–196.95 win over Kentucky in front of 7,683 at the Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.

That total is the tops for the Gators to open the SEC season and the third highest to start home action. And again like in Sunday's season opener at North Carolina State, the Gators showed that with the sharpening that should come as the season progresses, the potential is there for the score to grow.

Florida Gators Name Jenny Rowland as Gymnastics Coach

Jeremy Foley has earned himself a nap.

The University of Florida athletics director has hired Jenny Rowland as the next head coach of the Gators gymnastics team. This is on the heels of hiring Michael White as the new basketball coach earlier in the week.

"A couple of dreams have come true this week", Foley said on a conference call with local media on Saturday.

"Hiring people is what we do. You get the right coaches to take care of your program and we've done that week. But yea it's time for a nap."

The Florida Gators gymnastics program lost their leader on Friday afternoon as Rhonda Faehn announced that she would be stepping down from her job to become the Senior Vice President of USA Gymnastics.

O’Dome renovations postponed

Citing "an aggressive schedule, escalating costs and a change in the construction management team,” the University of Florida announced that the planned renovations for the Stephen C. O’Connell Center that were to begin after this season have been postponed for one year.
